International Cooperation

Our international cooperation is based on long-term partnerships, which makes our international activities extensive and diverse. The college has official partnership agreements with schools and universities in all the Nordic countries, as well as in Germany, the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Austria, China, Russia and the USA. The partnerships involve project for developing education and management development, as well as student and staff exchanges of various durations. The long-lasting international relations of both of the merging colleges form a solid base for the new institution's international renown.

Internationalisation of Students

We promote the internationalisation of our students by offering them opportunities to select studies related to different cultures and comprehensive foreign language studies from the very beginning of their studies. In addition, students can attend international seminars and take part in study trips under a teacher's supervision, either in Finland or abroad. To encourage students to participate in international activities and multiculturalism, we organise conferences and theme days, where students who have taken part in international activities can relate their experiences.

As their studies progress, students can go on exchanges requiring more independence on their part, by studying abroad at a partner institution or in a workplace. The longest student exchanges can last a whole semester. We also provide financial assistance for student exchanges.

Students can maintain language skills acquired on exchange programmes and to strengthen multiculturalism by selecting courses offered in English programme, where students come from diverse backgrounds.

We also offer students the possibility of acquiring a Bachelor's degree at a partnering institution in the UK or the USA, after completion of a vocational qualification.

Internationalisation of Staff

In addition to teaching and tutoring multicultural groups, our staff can improve their international work skills and language skills by participating in international development projects and student exchanges as instructors or evaluators or international staff exchanges. To help our student develop international skills and abilities, the whole staff of the college and not only management is committed to internationalisation.
